Boardroom and Principal’s Office

The Boardroom, designed between 1890 and 1897 by engineer Greco, is an elegant and solemn space, fully lined with fabric and furnished with historic pieces. It offers a panoramic view of Corso Calatafimi and the “Rose Garden,” enhanced by an ancient wisteria. Adorned with a lithograph of Queen Maria Adelaide and period photos of Giuseppe Pitrè, it now serves as the center for institutional meetings. The Principal’s office, once reserved for noble families, features a ceiling decorated with floral paintings by Rocco Lentini and walls lined with fine fabric. Distinctive elements include an embroidered painting of the institute’s emblem and mirrors adorned by the students, which reflect the light and enhance the beauty of the furnishings.

Boardroom

The Boardroom, created between 1890 and 1897, according to the project of the engineer Ignazio Greco, is a location that transmits elegance and majesty. It’s entirely upholstered in fabric, this room is enhanced by furniture which have an important historic value and by wide windows that offer a panoramic view of Corso Calatafimi. Two large openings overlook a magnificent terrace, from which it’s possible to admire the luxuriant “Rose Garden”. Here, a centuries old wisteria adds a touch of romance, with its colours and fragrances that inebriate the air.

Inside the room, frontally, an ancient lithography immediately catches the attention: it depicts Queen of Sardinia, Maria Adelaide, whose figure inspired the entire institute, as well as valuables vintage pictures, including a Giuseppe Pitre’s portrait, famous President of the Board of directors of the boarding school “Educandato Maria Adelaide”.
The many trophies are proof of the school’s active participation in sport events, whereas the vintage diplomas were obtained during the National Exhibition of 1891.

Today this hall is the heart of meetings and institutional conferences, which keep alive its representative function.

Principal’s Office

The Principal’s office was once reserved for the meetings with the noble families’ students. The ceiling is a masterpiece, decorated with floral paintings painted by the maestro Rocco Lentini. The walls, upholstered with a precious fabric, frame a series of unique elements: a painting embroidered in pure gold, depicting the emblem of the Savoy’s educational institution, and various original documents that describe the school’s administrative history.
The dressing tables, delicately adorned with floral paintings drawn by the students themselves, reflect the light, amplifying the decor’s beauty. In this room, we can also admire refined tea sets and furnishings decorated with the Educandato’s coat of arms, objects that illustrate everyday life of the young nobles who were educated here.
